Transportation Research Community

A university-wide community focused on transportation research is being formed.  Faculty and staff researchers with an interest in transportation-related issues are invited to join the KU Transportation Research Community.  This community will be an opportunity for like-minded researchers to network, learn from their peers, and align around such research topic areas as:

  • Community Transit
  • Environmental issues related to transportation
  • Highway engineering and maintenance
  • Human factors analysis
  • Intelligent transportation systems
  • Logistics and freight transportation
  • Resilient infrastructure systems
  • Sustainable transportation infrastructure
  • Traffic system operations
  • Transportation planning
  • Traffic safety
  • Transit system planning
  • Transportation workforce development
  • Vehicle automation and design

This is not an exclusive list and we encourage new lines of inquiry.

The Transportation Research Community will be directed by the University of Kansas Transportation Center (KUTC) in the School of Engineering., and its focus will be university-wide  The KUTC is a multi-disciplinary center of the University of Kansas operating since 1977, managing technology transfer and research programs.
