Effective Messaging and Strategies for Recruiting and Retaining a Strong Frontline Transit Workforce

Many transit organizations are working hard to meet the challenges of attracting, hiring, and retaining great frontline employees for operations and maintenance positions. Join us at 2 p.m. on October 29 as team members from the Transit Workforce Center, FTA’s national technical assistance center for workforce development, discuss innovative recruitment strategies transit organizations of all sizes and types have used across the country to reach out to a broad range of potential employee populations. Presenters will also discuss findings on effective messaging from a recently-released TWC report, “Recruitment Messaging That Resonates - Insights into Attracting Frontline Transit Workers”. The session will wrap up with a look at the positive impact of structured mentorship programs in improving employee retention, followed by time for participants to ask questions and share their experiences.
