Join us in Lawrence, KS on September 2, 2026!

The Midwest Innovation and Development in Transportation Symposium (MIDTRANS) is designed to bring together transportation researchers, practitioners, and decision-makers in a collaborative environment focused on advancing the future of mobility across the region. This one-day event serves as a hub for meaningful dialogue around the most pressing transportation challenges and opportunities, with an emphasis on practical solutions that can be implemented in real-world settings.

Attendees can expect a dynamic program that highlights both current and emerging research, alongside case studies and applications that demonstrate how innovation is being translated into practice. MIDTRANS creates space for cross-sector collaboration—connecting academic researchers with public agencies, private industry professionals, and community stakeholders—to ensure that new ideas are not only explored, but also effectively deployed.

By fostering open exchange and shared learning, MIDTRANS aims to bridge the gap between research and implementation. The symposium will showcase best practices, spark new partnerships, and support the development of forward-thinking strategies that improve transportation systems, enhance mobility, and strengthen communities throughout the Midwest and beyond.
